April was busy with the Laval Virtual show, of which we offer you a summary as complete as possible. The mood is mixed in the XR sector, with companies like Glue disappearing and others like Trace coming up with new ways to make AR experiences.

The market shows that the uses are there, with quite spectacular results in the field of e-commerce, tourism or health. I invite you to have a look at the US FDA’s “The Home as a Health Care Hub” initiative, which will probably give a new boost to XR in this sector. Still in the USA (definitely…) an initiative like that of the Seneca Valley shows that the adoption of XR (here in education) cannot be decreed, but requires a voluntary strategy to increase the skills of users.

Companies specializing in XR are making no mistake and are continuing to expand their offering. Microsoft has just integrated its remote assistance solution into Teams to make it as accessible as possible. Tactil announces a new version of its “Manifest” platform and Niantic is evolving its WebAR development tool to make it compatible with Apple’s Vision Pro. Add to all this a new version of the OpenXR standard and you have all the elements for market growth.

I would obviously like a little more good news from Europe to share with you but that will probably be for next month!

See you in a month!
